Irony Of Justice
Irony Of Justice
In the court of law, we seek truth and justice
But sometimes the irony can be quite ferocious
The guilty go free and the innocent suffer
While the scales of justice seem to falter and stutter
Money and power can sway the verdict
And those without are left feeling quite derelict
The poor often punished, while the rich go free
The irony of justice is plain to see
The innocent accused, left to languish in jail
While the guilty walk free, without any bail
Evidence can be twisted, and lies can be told
Leaving the justice system feeling quite cold
The irony of justice is harder to ignore
When those who enforce it seem to even the score
Death sentences handed down without hesitation
Ignoring the rights and cries of the condemned's nation
When justice is served, it can be sweet as wine
But when it's not, the irony is quite unkind
Those who suffer and are left without a voice
Lament the irony of justice, without a choice
So let us strive for true justice, free from irony
And uphold the rights of every person, equally
For only then can we say with conviction
That true justice has been served with no contradiction.
