If Monday Never Returned!

If Monday Never Returned!

Are you a school going kiddie?

Or the one worried for college attendance?

Or maybe who’s done with boring corporate life,

And eagerly waits for every weekend to feel alive!

So, no matter where and who you are,

And which strata of life you belong to,

One thing all of us have in common,

Is the trauma of Mondays and its annoying boredom!

This morning the alarm sounds a little different,

Though it irritates the same as rest six days,

Yet becomes much more needling and provoking,

As if the soul is dead within and breaths are choking!

But surely even the universe plays it well,

On how each Monday has to be boring,

When teachers have to bug young minds for homework,

And to those corporate heads, we seem nothing more than a clerk!

Hell! Why are Mondays too terrifying?

After-all who would willingly spin back to work,

When had an exciting weekend at granny’s place,

And Saturday night hangover is yet to find its space!

No wonders, why can’t a Sunday be succeeded by a Sunday?

And no other day finds its way,

But only Saturday night and weekend vibes,

Keep playing their role week long with closed eyes?

Why can’t all these days go on a long vacation,

And never return back into the scene,

Where Sunday overpowers the kingdom,

In all winters, summers and autumn!

And that’s what is the biggest fantasy of this world,

To replace Mondays with a happy life,

When no kiddie dresses up early for school bus,

Colleges remain closed for a day more,

And corporate announces an outing at the seashore,

With life offering its open hands outside our door!
