Hums Of The Night
Hums Of The Night
Dark and gloomy,
The world out was asleep
While I lay wide awake,
My mind pondered aimlessly
Through the field of curiosity,
Silent wails and moaning murmurs
Echoed through my room
But alas! The siren of obscure thoughts
Clouding my peaceful slumber;
What could she possibly be doing up at night?
They questioned,
How I wish I knew what I was doing!
As I ruefully chuckled
Mindlessly asking for an answer,
Only to drift that sorrow away;
While the night engulfs my loneliness
Tears stream down;
The dazzling city lights, peaceful peeps of nature,
Yet I felt woeful, missing something
That would complete me;
My mind a mess, heart in tangles
But a part of me could embrace,
As my soul had found its solace
Is she not scared of the night?
They doubted,
Oh! Only if I could tell them,
Nightfall was my place of healing
But all I did was heave a content sigh.
