Half-a-tear.
Half-a-tear.
The weight of all best times in life,
is I think, just half-a-tear.
I was strolling by the street yesterday,
When I saw a dog running towards her children,
with little food, she found on the roadside,
so they could all dine together,
And it left me just half-a-tear.
I remember each time I have left home,
And said goodbye,
through the window panes of the car,
And watched them disappear with the distance I covered,
All I have been left with is just half-a-tear.
And while watching the best movies,
As if there's life in it,
And as they shed tears on the screen,
I also do a bit, but just half-a-tear.
And each time I receive a 'Sorry' and a 'Thank you',
And it smells of heartfelt sentiment,
All I give them back,
is a smile and just half-a-tear.
And when I have nothing to do,
And I sit slackly on a summer afternoon,
And think of all the good times,
And after an hour or so,
As I wake up to life again,
All I see in myself is just half-a-tear.
All that I have forgiven, and forgotten,
And accepted and discovered,
It all just took half-a-tear,
And I wish, when I die and you come to my grave,
You stand there and smile and drop just half-a-tear.
