Friend???

                        Friend???

 A friend in need is a friend indeed, they say,

 Doesn’t hold true anymore, i say.

 Definition of a friend have changed,

 No more is he the one, who stands by your side,

 Always in sunny and clouded days

 But he is the one, who is seen on a sunny day,

 And is hidden by clouds on a dark cloudy day.

 

Loneliness and friendship, people say,

Cannot be experienced together,

I have experienced both.

A friend makes a normal day into a festival,

I have seen festivals turn into normal usual days.

Where was a friend then, I ask?

Friends can sense sorrow, they say,

 

My friends cannot even recognize,

Tear marks on my cheeks.

Loneliness tastes even bitter, when

You expect friends to make it sweet,

But you find no one.

Friends are there when everything is fine,

But not when hopes seem to die,

And life seems hell.

 

Friendship is confined to messages and e-mails,

And examples of true friendship, is only found in books in libraries,

Books that are covered with dust of time.

In the dynamic world we live in,

Things don’t remain static they change.

But whom do I ask,

What is the use of such a change?

That is not for the better,

What is the use of such a change?

That brings darkness and not glory,

What is the use?
