Forgiveness
Forgiveness

Forgiveness is a friend to few,
And sacrifice comes hard.
We like to hold onto our pain,
Lest we let down our guard.
Broken hearts and weary souls,
Abundant in this land.
Tears stream down from every face,
As if but by command.
This dungeon is a dreary place,
Where people choose to dwell.
Foreshadow of that hopeless place,
Now known to us as Hell.
Pride and pain, there’s plenty here,
Where hearts are cold as ice.
The moral is the rugged cross,
That mighty sacrifice.
