Experiences Of Sailing

Here I was all alone,

Amidst the vast Indian Ocean,

Not as a Scientist from ivory chambers,

But simply as "Sindbad the sailor",

Sailing from island to island,

In pursuit of my duties,

And social obligations!

Seated on the deck of the ship first night,

I thought to myself philosophically that,

No being is worst of all,

No being is best of all,

There is so much good in the worst of us,

There is so much bad in the best of us,

That it is unbecoming and unsporting of us,

To talk or comment about the rest of us !

Seated on the deck of the ship second night,

I thought to myself ironically that,

People who are thousand miles away from you,

Can make you feel better and rejuvenated,

Than people who are right beside you!
