Dreams To Die For
Dreams To Die For
I am crossing borders,
Swimming, running, hurting,
I am a refugee
I dream of living.
I have a noose around my neck,
head held high, 'inqualaab zindabaad',
I am a rebel,
I dream of freedom.
'I have a dream', I said,
it went down in history,
when I, a black man fought for my rights.
I dream of equality.
I take a bullet to the head,
I refuse to give up school,
I am just another daughter,
I dream of peace.
I get up before sunrise,
I toil in heat,in snow, in boats,in cycles
I am a common man,
I dream of shelter.
I dream to make a change,
Make peace and preach love.
I stumble a lot.
I am you,
I dream,
just as pure as you.
