Different Ways

When we were together,

We had so much to gather,

We looked at each other

And realized nothing else does matter.

Our love was true and pure,

That feeling still beats in heart for sure,

Gain or loss was never a question,

That day also came which brought with it our separation.

The sequence of events brought life to the stage,

Where true love appeared as fake,

Always thought we will not be able to survive,

But see today we both are settled and alive.

We are not together now,

Our ways have separated,

Our reasons for being alive are different,

But every now and then,

Those moments encircle me,

A feeling fills my thoughts,

Why this life is so different from what we want it to be.
