Dear Papa
Dear Papa
Nearly a year back my dad told me to write a poem on him,
From then I started even till now I am unable to pen down my feeling.
It’s not that I don’t have anything to write on him,
Or I don’t think or tried to fulfill his this small telling.
The truth is I have got to tell him so many things,
That Vikram Seth’s poem looks way smaller than mine.
Papa, you are my Chirag of Aladdin,
From a bat to dress my every wish, you fulfill.
And even so many without I mentioning about them you put a tick on top of them.
But papa tell me when the last time you ticked on your wish list.
Your scolding’s sometimes made me upset,
But I know that’s how you are preparing me to be perfect.
You know I am a big fan of Alastair Cook,
I always ask, am I looking like him?
If someone says yes it makes me happy,
But you know when someone says I look like you I feel the best.

;
Papa, you are the only person in the world,
Who loves his child most but still doesn’t always show.
Your presence makes me feel so safe,
Like a Snell inside its shell.
You are that shed which has holes,
But only blessings come from those.
Papa, you are the strongest person,
You absorb all pressure and troubles without a single tear or complaint.
I know now it’s the time when you need a bit of rest,
And spend time enjoying not grinding yourself.
I am sorry for not being able to be that support yet,
Not being able to take a share of that burden.
You are the best dad,
You cover all my incapability by telling me it’s not the time for me to do them.
Papa, I have got so many more things to tell you,
But I don’t know to put them in words.
All those thoughts are a mix of my feeling and emotions
Just know that papa I love you a lot.
