Concerns Of A Lost Soul

Once I had pleasantries

With my kith and kin

Now we have conditional pleasantries

That befits the most

Once I had many friends

Who were loving and tolerant

Now I haven't any but a few

Who are prejudicial and intolerant

Once my kin was quite verbose

With a lot of informal babbling

Now they are quite reserved

With plenty of snappy muttering

Once my kith used to

Tickle me with funny pranks

Now they used to shake

My hands with cold looks

I am really fed up

I can't even stretch out for a while

And much concerned how my son

Get through this complex world

I don't want to see him wired

Gazing at the uncertain world

And found himself in bafflement

So I decided to teach him

How to wield the lash

To shower the true love and affection.
