Bushfires
Bushfires
Behold! The road through the blue mountains is blocked,
I could see amber's flying like sparks,
A baby koala has just been charred,
Her mother's shrieking has now fainted aghast!
A little girl had earlier called,
To treat her wailing dehydrated dog,
Alas! She has to let him go,
The road to the blue mountains is blocked!
Ah! A little marsupial hops,
With a hope to find his long lost mob
His spirits gradually wading in disdain,
His swollen eyes flickering in pain
My little girl's last call,
Shook me up like a blitzkrieg
Her agonising and painful cries,
Are reverberating in my mind
Nature's fury spares no one,
The radio has confirmed one more succumbed,
Hurry, I should quickly run,
Behold! The road through the blue mountains is blocked.
