Baggage
Baggage
We are conditioned
To carry baggage,
From kindergarten
To work!
A small desire,
Cascading and going
Haywire!
Carrying learnings
And yearnings,
For decades,
Unable to put it down
Cause it's in spades!
Climbing mountains,
Carrying mountains,
Complaining about the weight,
Unable to put it down!
Scaling great heights,
Regardless of the weights,
Cause the sun shone
On your brilliance,
It was a dalliance
That was exhilarating!
But slowly the
Footsteps slowed,
Dizzy heights deplored!
Every step became .a chore,
Definitely a bore!
As I paused to think
What a way to sink,
A pickaxe did clink
On that mountain side!
An old man
Stretched
out a stick,
Giving me a hand!
How much longer
Are you going to carry
That backpack on your back?
Set it down .
It carries the burden
Of a lifetime of
Desires,
Of what to hope
And what you
Aspire!
The mountains that are there
you can climb,
But you cant climb the
Mountains that you carry!
Set it down and unburden
Yourself,
The child has grown
And can think for herself!
The conditioning we carry,
Doesn't let us tarry,
We are just in a great hurry!
If you listen closely enough,
You can hear the silence
In your mind,
And it says
All you need for the journey
Is a prayer in your heart
And a smile on your lips!
Everything else is excess
Baggage!
