As I say Good Bye!

Stagnation is not the purpose of life,

Nor can it be the nature,

Moving on is the trend they say,

That’s how life goes on.

In this ever speeding life,

Uncountable people we meet,

A few are forgotten and a few remembered,

But some dwell in our hearts forever.

Moments pass and time slips off,

Memories are the ones that stay,

Kindling the flame of affection,

They often lighten our way.

Stepping here none had thought,

The bonds would grow so intense,

For parting is an inevitable truth,

And yet as kids, we wish we had stayed.

Every fraction of time spent here,

Each and every person,

Even the ones not so prized,

Will now, be dearly missed.

Strange was the environment and unfamiliar were the people,

Yet a family we became.

The smiles and tears and all our fears

Were shared without being hesitant.

Right from the horses to the gliders,

From the music to the radio,

From literature to the theatre,

What not we got under a single roof.

Every passion was lived with delight,

How magnanimous were the days spent,

Each one felt like a free bird,

And soar for a limitless flight.

Could there be any reason for regret,

Just when I paused to ponder,

None could I figure out,

For my mind was crowded with the thoughts of sweet times.

I fell here and then I learnt to rise again,

I cried and gradually took the smiles at strength,

It was toil; I never said it was that easy,

But each hardship brought enormous strength in me.

A strength that would never deter,

A ‘me’ who is now grown to combat any battle,

What a wonder world this is,

Where both strength and tenderness coexist.

To all those who held my hand and taught me to walk,

And to those who pushed me inside the mud.

Those who added tons of cherish-able moments,

To the ones who will forever reside in my heart,

All I have to say is a big THANK YOU!

For this journey has been beautified by each one of you.

Our parting is fair made,

But as I say good bye to all,

I wish we could have stayed!
