A Shard Of Light

A Shard Of Light

A shard of light broke apart

From gigantically magnanimous thunderclouds,

Tearing skies it fell on the earth,

Enkindling, alighting quiescent hearth

What a marvelous blaze the shard possessed

And a shine that of- freshly forged sword

Graciously it charred, with its mighty fire

The weeds of evil and fiendish desire

But all that remained, in the barren land

Buried underneath the scorched residuum

Dormant and dead, tangled and furled

The shard freed it from the tenebrous world,

All the light that was encompassed within-

The shard, Illuminated expanse around,

Engulfing, devouring --reverberant murk

Diffusing the rays of hope abound

And all the warmth the shard possessed

It dissipated to the sprouting buds,

Afresh, anew, they grew and bloomed

Uprooting infernal sylvan that loomed
