A Note To Myself!
A Note To Myself!
Hey old soul! How have you been?
Has been a while since you were seen.
Have you been lost in the rush of life?
Trapped in its allure, warped in its strife!
Remember the times you were a little kid, straight out of nursery
When freedom was actually free, not a luxury.
You would jump all around, laugh without reason or order,
Simply wander around with abandon and wonder!
Look at you now, all grey and worn,
Caught up in the crowd, yet so forlorn.
Where is that cherished freedom, you often wonder,
Like old school friends, slowly gone asunder!
In a town full of skyscrapers, you crave for little huts,
Folks don’t get you, they probably call you nuts.
But deep down you know, they too wish the same,
Yet caught in worldly cobwebs, they find it easier to blame!
Don’t you just wish to disappear without a trace,
Go somewhere quiet, skip the mad race.
Maybe the edge of the mountains or the side of a lonely beach,
An abode of solitude that no one could reach!
Back to reality, as you constantly battle the elements around you,
As the struggles of work and life slowly dust you to the ground.
Dear Soul! Remember not to let the fire within the die,
Break free of the shackles one day, however hard it might be to try.
