A Love Poem?
A Love Poem?
This is not a love poem
Or maybe it is?
I think that’s for you to decide
What is a love poem?
Well first of all what is love?
A feeling
that warms your heart?
Or a tinkling bell
when your eyes meet?
Is this poem for that?
Maybe
Maybe not
It’s for you to decide!
Ever felt your heart tingle
When you hear them repeat
A small habit
from a conversation
You had years ago
Or maybe centuries ago.
Ever looked up
shocked at their faces,
When they unexpectedly
Pulled you aside
To shield you from the
Incoming assault of
Hurried people sprinting by
Ever paused and sobbed harder
When they just patted your head
And pulled you closer
Telling you it’s okay
Instead of taking out the flaws
In your trauma
Or belittling you
And just silently hugging you
Allowing you to take your time
Ever felt your cheeks flush
Or your words fluster
When they complimented
You out of the blue
When you thought
You looked like
A beggar in rags
All of these small moments
Comforted your heart
Like a blanket in the cold
Moments so small
That might seem insignificant
But big enough for you
to allow your heart to beat for
Another day
Just so that you can see them again
Big enough to wake you up
Before the alarm rings
Big enough to create a smile
On your face
This is not a love poem
Or maybe it is
A love poem for the small
moments that tend to make
Our daily life is a bit happier
So is this a love poem?
That’s for you to decide!
