A Dark Affair..

On a night pitch black

When even the most experienced travelers would lose track 

A boy fearless steps out

Into darkness that frees him of all doubt

Free from the glares of judgment and the light of destiny

The boy moves forward disregarding the star that lies in the north

With neither destiny nor the compass by his side 

The boy walks the solitary path of the heart

'The unknown', everybody else's greatest fear

Is something that the boy holds dear

Only on paths like these where no mortal has tread 

Full of ghosts, ghouls, and undead

Can true treasures be found? 

And that is where our

youngster is bound

With the night as his lover, he moves ahead

Not to end the tunnel with light

But in the search of what's truly right

Because true darkness isn't something so realistic

It only dwells in the heart of humans sadistic

The boy, matured into a man down the path 

And tied with darkness the eternal knot

Their progeny, the shadows spread far and wide

And saved people from inescapable rot

Shadows have since then become our eternal companions 

Sheltering us from the flames of hatred

Reminding us that it's only in the dark unknown places

That we find things that are truly sacred.
