Her late mother, who converted to Hinduism, was from Dhaka in what was formerly East Pakistan.
Shakira's formative years were spent in Russia, where she was nurtured in a culturally vibrant environment. At the age of 12, her life took a significant turn when her parents separated, prompting her and her mother to move to the Philippines. There, she pursued her higher secondary education, laying the foundation for her future career.
In 2001, Shakira embarked on her professional journey in Singapore, where she began her career as a model. Her talent soon caught the attention of many, leading her to perform in various dance programs. Her passion for the arts drove her to further her career in the Czech Republic, where she worked as an actress, dancer, and model with Svet Modelek.
