Grumpy, the elephant forgot something or the other every day. And as you have guessed, he was grumpy every day.

Yes, even when he went to school, he forgot something or the other. On the first day, it was his drawing book.

“How I wish I had my drawing book”, he sighed. “My long trunk longs to sketch in its neat pages”, he groaned all day long.

“Don’t be so grumpy, Grumpy”, hissed the snake.

On the second day, it was his biggg ball.

“How I wish I had my biggg ball”, he sighed. “My pointed tusks long to hold it between them”, he groaned all day long.

“Don’t be so grumpy, Grumpy”, squeaked the squirrel.

On the third day, he forgot his red umbrella.

“How I wish I had my big umbrella”, he sighed. “My flat ears long to flap under it”, he groaned all day long.

“Don’t be so grumpy, Grumpy”, chirped the bird.

And on the fourth day,

“What did Grumpy forget today?”, the animals whispered to each other as they saw Grumpy coming to the classroom.

“Shoes to wear on his huge feet”, said the rabbit.

“No, hat to wear on his huge head”, said the money.

“Or, a sweater to wear on his huge body”, said the dog.

But guess what?

Grumpy forgot to be grumpy.

He played with the other animals.

And he enjoyed so much that he decided to forget to be grumpy every day.

He kept his promise because he was never grumpy no matter what he forgot.
