The Sweetest Sister
The Sweetest Sister
I and my sister Aroohi Pandey are best of friends. We share all our sorrows and happiness. She is such a caring person that she knows what I love to eat and often prepares the same kind of food. Just like a sweet little sister she is highly caring. Although I am her elder brother, being an elder brother the caring attitude I should show towards her, she shows me.
One day I return home late from the office. That night I did not have dinner either due to work pressure. Late in the night, I came into the home. My mom & dad were sleeping. My sister opened the door. I entered the house and said to her, "Gudiya, I am very hungry. Give to something to eat. You see today I am working consistently for 10 hours without a break. It was such a hectic schedule."
Smilingly she said," Ok, I know. Now please wash your hands & come to the dining table."
I was having dinner as if I am hungry for the last many years. She was laughing and looking at me. "Am I a Joker", I asked. She said, "No Bro, you are not a joker. But it feels like you haven't seen food for many years." And she started laughing like mad. Looking at her laughing madly, I also burst into laughter.
"Ok now tell me, did you take your food?", I asked. With a sweet smile, she said, "What do you have to do with that?". I understood she was also hungry.
We had our dinner together. While eating I was constantly looking at her thinking that she is 7 years younger than me. Due to my busy work schedule, I can't even focus on household responsibilities. But she never lets my mom and dad feel like that.
Actually, I am like a wanderer. Sometimes at home, sometimes not & even sometimes out to work for 4 days. But she is the real caretaker of my home. Because of her, my home is like home.
I sometimes feel highly blessed to have such a sweet sister, who takes care of me just like my mother. Actually, she is my mother, in a real sense who loves me, takes care of me, and even cries for me sometimes.
May God gives her all the happiness in life.
