Hey! Mom, I’m home.
With concerning eyes Mom said, Sara, my sweetheart, my pumpkin, you look so tired, want something to eat? .No need Mom, she replied softly. Mom whimpered, tough day at the college or, is it about Jack? .Mom! , she smirked. And said, nothing much, he wants me to come with him at Emily's pool party. I don't want to embarrass him. So I refused his proposal, but this boy just doesn't want to listen, he barked at me, that he will pick me up tomorrow at 4 pm.
Why don’t you join him? Mom said.., he just wants to help you. Sara, it is not every time, that something wrong would happen to you if you enter the water. Just go with him and have fun with your friends. He loves you a lot, don’t be rude to him by showing your stubbornness.
Sara surrendering at her sight said, Mom, I’m going in my room, before that I need a big hug from you.Of course dear! , her mother hugged her tightly and kissed her on the forehead and said don't bother about anything, go relax yourself out.
I went to bed and curved myself with the blanket on either side of the bed.
I closed my eyes and tried to fall asleep, with slow breath ......, a splash of water just took me away, I could feel water reaching my neck and level was increasing rapidly. All I could see was water everywhere, nothing to guard me.I growled, screamed for help, I glanced at the sky, cried for someone to rescue me. And water level was increasing. when it reached above my mouth, I realized water filling my ear, coming to the nose, choking my lungs, resisting me from breathing, I wrestled and paddled. But I defeated the battle. I lost control and drowned out. Reaching below my foot hit with a concrete surface, I wiggled to come up, and saw a circular red shaped ball coming nearer to me, as I touched ,it exploded into blood red cloud all around ,I felt a strangulation, I tried to offend it, straggling around, I accumulated all willpower, and banged the concrete and rushed up like a streamline bullet, as I reached the surface.
My eyes remained opened, I was shocked and baffled, I was breathing heavily, a
Stimulation grabbed out my spine, I was blackout and scared. What the hell?. I was in the room, on my bed . With sprouted breaths and shaky legs, I went off the bed, pulled out the curtains. I smirked and said, what a lovely morning start I have.
I quickly dressed up for the college. And leaped downstairs. Mom will you get me the breakfast I'm running late. The doorbell rang up, and Emily entered the dining area. Hey! Sara, I'm so excited for the pool party. Have you decided what are you wearing? I’m wearing a pink swimsuit. Sara took a deep breath and said I'm not coming. Emily crossed her hands over her chest and started staring Sara.
Sara nodded and said, look I know it’s your birthday. But you know I have an Aqua phobia. I don’t want to spoil your celebration. Emily argued if you are not coming I am not going to celebrate.I hope you won’t disappoint me. Sara smiled nervously and said now stop your emotional drama, I’m coming. She smiled. And grabbed Sara’s hand and said let's get to college.
As said Jack arrived at Sara's home. Jack entered, he remained stunned when he saw Sara in a cool of shoulder blouse and a short skirt. He waved his hand in a flirty gesture, and stepped nearer to her, he grabbed her by her waist and said someone stole my heart today and dazzled her with a kiss.
She blushed out and said mom is, home, so behave and moved his grip on her, Jack looked too cute with his skinny blue t-shirt and shorts. He blinked his eyes in approval and said I know it is difficult for you, but believe if you want we will not get in the pool. That’s really sweet of you Jack, come lets hit the party.
At the party, everyone was enjoying the music, jack pushed me to the floor, and we hit the dance floor together. Emily joined us and I felt jolly seeing her smiling, I hugged her and wished her.
She thanked me and said make yourself comfortable. I sat on the chair and cheered for Jack, he was so quick in moves, after all, it was his favorite game, volleyball, but inside the pool, I will not join him, and he didn’t force me too. In between of his game, he passed a smile to me. One of player smashed the ball high that it just bang on my head and passed to the other side.I mumbled out “ouch”. Jack spoke softly sorry about that dear but please will you pass the ball. With a smirk smile, I took the ball and stepped towards the pool. I was four steps away from the pool when I was about to throw the ball, someone pushed me and I was dumped in the pool again, I start wiggling out but it was too late.I was drowning deeper and deeper. I had my wits, I tried to swim up, but again I was chocking, wrestling for breaths, suddenly water turned blood red, I could feel panic and shock at the same time. Someone just gripped my throat, and I saw myself on the other side trying to kill me.
I was sinking, but some part me knew that it was not real so I pull out that grip and hit the floor with full power and with that speedy bullet I come up the surface in just one stroke. I breathed heavily, after few seconds I was back to normal breaths. I saw jack coming to me, with sporadic breaths he shouted Are you alright?. I am sorry dear!, let us get out of here.
I said I was doing fine. I don't want to go. He frowned with his one of his brows and said Are you sure.I hugged him said now no more phobia. It was I who was pulling myself back every time. With crying happily I said to him I won the battle. He kissed on her forehead and said I’m proud of you sweetheart. After playing for some time she starred at the pool, but this time not with fear, but with joy to celebrate her conquer at the battle. Emily soon joined them, she said I'm glad you came. With a sweet smile, she replied so do I.
“Aqua phobia or water fright is a persistent and abnormal fear of water. Aqua phobia is a specific phobia that involves a level of fear of water that is beyond the patient's control or that may interfere with daily life. People suffer Aqua phobia in many ways and may experience it even though they realize the water in an ocean, a river, or even a bathtub poses no imminent threat. This anxiety commonly extends to getting wet or splashed with water when it is unexpected, or being pushed or thrown into a body of water”. Our disbelief make an invisible boundary around us.With strong will power, we can tackle down any phobia and break through that boundary which is leading us behind.
