THE REASON BEHIND: TEARY EFFECT OF ONIONS

Hello fellow folks, have you ever wondered why do we cry while cutting onions? Well, yet again there's a short story behind it. Let us now dive into the story!

Long ago in the kingdom of Suleiman, carrot, tomato and onion used to be best Pals. The trio used to be together wherever they go. They had a strong bond and were very happy. The village in which they lived had a big mountain and the trio had been planning eagerly for climbing up it. Reaching the top of the peak was equivalent to their dream. Finally on a sunny and bright day all the three started their journey to the mountain. They had just started when, all of a sudden, a bullock cart drove over the tomato and squashed it to death. Shocked seeing this both carrot and onion mourned over the death of tomato. Alas the two decided to climb up the mountain since it was their friend(tomato's) dream. The two continued the journey, travelling day and night. After a day they decided to take a break and took a nap. Instantly the onion woke up to the sound of his friend crying for help. Poor carrot was being carried away by a horse. Onion was helpless but to watch his friend being eaten. With no one left the onion cried aloud, until finally the news reached Suleiman's court. Suleiman who was the messenger of God, felt pity at the small onion. He blessed the onion with a boon that had been passed on by the gods. The boon was that if anyone tries to hurt onion they will start crying simultaneously. The onion was asked to complete his journey to the mountain. After endless day and night, he had finally reached the top of the mountain. There to its surprise the onion saw a stairway to the sky, for it was the pathway to heaven. He looked down one last time feeling the pride of achieving the dream and could hear his friends calling from above. There he went through the stairs to heaven. He had been once again reunited with his friends.
