The Rainbow Rose
The Rainbow Rose
Raja Krishnadevaraya went to his garden as the gardener had requested to see him. Raja thought it must have been something important that he has been called, so he also invited his ministers with him.
"Look Maharaja, I have grown a multicolored rose," the gardener said as Raja reached the garden with his council.
"What are you saying? What do you mean?" Raja asked.
"Look at this flower, Maharaja!" the gardener said, pointing to a rose.
The rose was just like a rainbow; it had many petals of different colors. The gardener said that it took him years of handwork to grow such a flower and it only in this world. Everyone was impressed by the rare beauty of the flower. Tenali Rama said, "That is extra-ordinary achievement gardener."
The gardener thanked him. "You must be awarded for it. Am I right Maharaja Ji?" Tenali added.
The King agreed and so did the council. "But before that Maharaja, the plants seem rather thirsty, would you honor this rare wonder by watering it by your hands?" Tenali told Raja who seemed excited to water it but the gardener said he had already watered it.
"Don't worry the water will find its way to the thirsty plant then or at least clean the plants," Tenali told everyone.
As Maharaja watered the plant, it started to wash away to white. Soon they realized that the gardener had painted the flower which got removed due to water.
"Did you know about it Tenali?" Maharaja asked. Tenali Rama agreed.
"Yes Maharaja, I realized it was false when saw droplets of paint on other white flowers," Tenali told them.
