The Move
The Move
No! I am not moving to New York. I am going to stay in Los Angeles only. I yelled at my parents.
Hi! My name is Carlotta Brown. I am 11 Years old living in Los Angeles. Me and my friend Janet do everything together, but now we won´t be able to as my parents told me we had to move. I was absolutely depressed and mad at them for not asking me whether I wanted to move or not.
We are moving after Two Days and my room hardly even looks like it belongs to me. It is filled with boxes. Our house is a chaos everyone is going up and down the stairs for something or the other. I was super grateful to my friend for her help in packing. Once all my stuff was packed ,she came up with a great idea. She whispered in my ear :
-Borrow stuff like yours from someone else
-Assemble it in your room
-Pretend you haven´t packed at all
- Convince your mom that you are not ready to move just yet.
I jumped up with excitement and dashed off to some of my friends house to borrow their things. I explained the plan and they readily agreed. Operation not moving seemed to be working. Janet and I got to work. After a while we decided to put on the act. Janet returned back to her house.
Mom! I screamed out loud. She came in my room and asked me what happened. But as soon as she saw my room she started scolding me for not packing my stuff. She started a lecture on how we are going to be late as we need to leave tomorrow. I suddenly started bawling and she started packing my stuff. My awful brother entered the the room smirking at me. Mom drove him away. As she was packing I realized that there was nothing I could do. After she packed all of it I decided to tell her my plan and I did after returning all my friends stuff and informing them that the plan had failed.
I begged mom to at least let me have goodbye party but she was like you can have it in New York.
It was a long Three hour flight before we reached to Manhattan where we were staying. We had a large house with a beautiful swimming pool in the backyard . This would be a great place for me and Janet to hang out.
Since, there was nothing to do I started unpacking my stuff in my Humongous room. I was moving my bed in the corner but I stopped. What I had just saw was a secret room under my bed. I kept my bed over the secret room. I thought that I can take some of the things that I don´t want mom to know about down there.
It was a boring place except for my secret room and the pool of course. It was the best coincidence that Janet was moving in the house beside mine. It was the best day ever. We both started going to a school named York Prep School. For some reason We were super popular and we were given the best lunches. After every school day we hung out with Lilyś group who was the best in everything even sports.
Overall I did not regret moving one bit.
I would Like to say that
Sometimes things don´t go as expected ,
It isn´t always what you want.
But you can always adjust
