Once upon a time, there was a girl name Pratibha. She was living in a society in Pune with her parents.  She was good at studies, arts and games. She was dedicated to her studies and she was always keeping herself fit by participating in physical activities. She was the topper of the class. Her parents and teachers were very proud of her.

One day in her school lunch break, Pratibha and her best friend Kritika were talking to each other. Her friend asked Pratibha about YouTube. Pratibha responded in a no as she never used YouTube earlier. Her friend was shocked and told her with the exclamation “You don’t know You Tube”? Pratibha asked, what is it? Her friend asked, “you use a mobile or not”? Pratibha replied, “I don’t have a mobile but I talk to others on my mom’s mobile”. Tell me about youtube she asked.

Then her friend explained to her that YouTube is an App in which you can see many videos in that. You can see cartoons, mythological stories, news and many more. Kids enjoy a lot watching these videos. You can also enjoy watching these but you need a mobile and internet for it. Pratibha said, “but I don't have mobile”. Then her friend advised her to demand a mobile from her parents.

After this conversation when she went back home she requested her mother to give her mobile but her mother said that the same can’t be given to kids and you are so small to have a mobile. Pratibha started forcing her mother to buy her a mobile and started behaving like a stubborn kid. Since she never asked for something like that, the next day her mother bought her mobile. When she got a mobile she immediately started watching youtube over it. Slowly she started enjoying and started spending her time over the mobile. She never studied like she studied earlier and slowly stopped going to playground. Her physical activity reduced and spending more and more time on mobile also affecting her mental condition.

She slowly became impatient, arrogant and concentration on her studies also reduced. Instead of her studies and sports she was spending more and more time with mobile. She was also enjoying her parents company and most of the time watching mobile. Due to these her exams also did not go well. When results declared she performed badly. When her parents went through results they understood the bad effect of her excessive use of mobile. Her parents took corrective action and the mobile has been taken back from her and advised her to leave the mobile habit.

When her mobile was taken back Pratibha started behaving badly with her parents. Her parents saw the change in her and took her to the doctor for counseling. The doctor advised her to start going out, play with friends in the playground and concentrate on her studies. Slowly she started going out to play with her friend and started physical activities. With these activities, she slowly developed interest in sports and studies. She started leaving her mobile habits and became a nice and good girl like earlier.

Once again she became a favorite of her teachers/Parents and her friends.

Moral of the story: Technology is helpful in modern life but excessive use is dangerous.
