Sudeep Nagarkar Autobiography
Sudeep Nagarkar Autobiography
“If you were born with the ability to change someone’s perspective or emotions, never waste that gift. It is one of the most powerful gifts God can give—the ability to influence” (Shannon L. Alder). Writers have the ability to touch many hearts with what they have written. Similarly in India, there is an author called Sudeep Nagarkar who has won the hearts of millions of readers in a short span of time. The main quality needed in an author is being able to relate with their readers, and Sudeep Nagarkar knows how to relate to each and every age group.
Sudeep Nagarkar was born on 26th February 1988 in Mumbai, India. He is from a ethnic Marathi Brahmin family to Jayant Nagarkar and Manju Nagarkar. He completed his schooling at St. John the Baptist High School, Thane. Sudeep pursued B-Tech in Electronics Engineering from Datta Meghe College of Engineering, Navi Mumbai. He completed his MBA in Business Management from Welingkar Institute of Management, Mumbai in 2014. Sudeep recently married his long-time girlfriend Jasmine Sethi, an engineer from Delhi.
Sudeep's first book, Few Things Left Unsaid, was published on 10 July 2011. His second book, That's the way we met, was published on 1 July 2012. Soon after the release of his second book, he quit his job at an IT company in 2012 to fully devote his time to writing. He also faced stiff opposition from his family when he decided to turn out into a full-time writer. His own life inspired his first two novels. He received the "Youth achievers" award in August 2013 for writing three bestselling novels back to back and for being one of the highest-selling romance authors in India. Apart from writing novels, he has been invited for motivational and guest lectures in various institutions and organizations. He was also nominated for the list of "Top 100 influential celebrities of India of 2014" by Forbes India.
All of Sudeep Nagarkar's books are based on real-life and true stories. His first book “Few things left unsaid” was based on the breakup he had prior to writing that book. In an interview, Mr.Sudeep was thanking his fans and he said: “Even after the release of my debut book ‘Few things left unsaid’, I had not fully got over with my depression but their love made me what I am today.” This clearly shows how much depression he got from his love failure.
During the interview the interviewer asked Sudeep sir: “What is the inspiration behind your current novel ‘It started with a friend request?” The answer he said was: “I always want to write true stories based on real-life rather than reel life. When I completed my second book, I knew there won’t be another part of Aditya-Riya’s love story as it had ended with ‘That’s the way we met’. I have a habit of going for an outing to a nice, happening place after finishing a book. So after I had completed writing ‘That’s the way we met, I was vacationing in Goa when Kritika—one of my gang mates who had accompanied me to Goa—suggested I write a book about Akash and Aleesha’s story. They were my friends who were seeing each other. And then ‘It Started With a Friend Request’ happened.” During my lifetime I have read many books by many authors, but the majority of the books I read were never based on a true story. When a reader reads a story based on a true story, then they feel that they can actually relate to the story. This is a very strong point for an author to become famous.
Sudeep's literary works produced so far have been of the romance genre. His writings have the theme of friendship, true love, and trust in relationships. Many authors when you ask them: “how is your writing style different from others?” then they will say things like; I am good in fiction, nonfiction, science fiction, etc. But when Sudeep was asked this, he answered: “Everyone has their unique style of writing. Some are good at humor, some are better at emotions. I never compare myself with other authors- it will be unfair to do so. I believe that if you have the ability to improve yourself in every book that you write, then you have done your work.” “Never get carried away by your success stories from the past, because they offer no guarantee of your future performances. You’ll always be as good as your next performance, and not the last as the cliche goes. So strive to make your next performance the best one, and better than ever before” (Deodatta V. Shenai-Khatkhate). Whenever I read this quote it reminds me of Sudeep sir because this is exactly what he talked about when he was asked about his writing style. It takes a lot of humbleness for a famous writer not to brag about himself and not say how he is better than other writers in specific genres. His humbleness is also another reason for him to reach a high success rate in a very short span of time. In India, people have the wrong assumption that a boy and girl can never be friends or even best friends without being accused of being lovers. Sudeep Nagarkar beautifully writes in his books that a girl and boy can actually be friends. For me, I would say his specialty is writing stories based on real-life stories as well as the society in India.
When I first started writing this research paper I was blank on what to write but now I cannot stop writing about the wonderful author Sudeep Nagarkar. This author has taught me so much about real life and how to carry about in my life as well. Ever since I was little I always had a dream of being a writer, and my first success towards that dream came true during my first year of college. First-year of college I was studying at Gateway Community College, and my ENG101 teacher told me about a writing competition taking place and that I should submit my writing. To my surprise, my fiction story won an award. I was so happy because I got my inspiration from my favorite author Sudeep Nagarkar.
