Stone Soup In Bohemia

A long time ago, in Europe, there was a soldier who was returning from war to home but he was tired and exhausted so he decided to stay a night at a village nearby. He got to a village which was named Bohemia. It was a very dirty village. The people in that village were not caring and were unkind. But the soldier still decided to stay. He sat near a tree and removed his tight boots and untied his armor. Then he took out an iron cauldron from his bag which he carried around, then he stretched and relaxed.

After some time an old chief (Head of the village) came and scolded, “Do you think that we are supposed to give u food, if it is so u are not getting anything.” Then all the people came and that area became crowded. People then also started shouting to the soldier that “ We will not give u a piece of bean.” The soldier did not say a word, but still, the villagers were shouting.

 Then suddenly the soldier shouted, “STOP!” Everyone stopped gossiping and shouting. Then the soldier said calmly, “I do not want any food I will cook my special ‘STONE SOUP’!” Suddenly everyone gasped and started gossiping that what is a stone soup? The old chief asked the soldier that what is a stone soup? The soldier then looked at him and said, wait I will tell you what it is. Then the soldier took two stones from his bag, everyone stared at the stone. Then the soldier said, “These are two special stones and how so u ask, these stones if u put them in any soup and cook it you will get powers like strength, see far away things and much more. And we can use it multiple times. I got this from a monk who gave me as a present to win wars.” Then he puts the stones into his cauldron and puts in some water, later when the soup was ready he took a sip and said DELICIOUS even there was only water. The villagers were shocked, they also wanted to taste. 

Then the chief asked, “ Can I have some too”, The soldier agreed and said, “Yes chief you can have it and all the villagers could have some too but it would be tastier with some vegetables so if all the villagers can contribute, then the soup would be more delicious, so what do you think so.” Villagers did not know that the soldier was fooling them so that he could get the vegetables to make a real soup and drink it and give some to the villagers. Then all villagers thought for it for a second to contribute and agreed. Everyone bought the vegetables which were needed to make a soup. Then the soldier started to make the soup, added the stones, and then added water, added the vegetables, and waited for few minutes and the soup was ready. The villagers were very excited to taste the some, but they did not know that it was an ordinary soup there is no special stone. The soldier served the villagers soup in a bowl. Villagers tasted it and fell in love with it. The soldier was laughing while drinking the soup. A villager said, “Wow! What a beautiful soup, I never had a delicious soup in my life.” Later, that night he and the whole Bohemia drank the soup and they all went to sleep at their huts.

So, you see the soldier had his full dinner in this rude and mean village because of his cleverness.
