Small Moments Of Discovery

After completing my schooling & formal education at Fatima Convent High School, Bhavnagar (Gujarat), I thought I was done with school sisters (nuns) and did not expect to see them in near future. 

Not that I did not want to see them (they were true angels), but there was no likelihood of meeting them in higher educational institutions.

But a couple of years later I chanced upon Sister Isabel and Sister Bournita (teachers of Bhavnagar convent school) at St Xaviers Loyola sports complex (Ahmedabad) where I was witnessing an inter-college hockey match.

During the small break, I was moving around the Loyola campus when I noticed "these two angels" and ran towards them - it was so spontaneous. I said hello to them. Sister Is

abel recognized me instantly but was surprised to see me there. She exclaimed, "Prakash, is this a serendipity of sorts". I replied, "what did you just say". She repeated the word "serendipity". When I looked blank, she smiled and then explained to me the meaning of serendipity which means "discovery by chance".

Well that day, unexpectedly, I happened to learn a couple of new things in a matter of few minutes, thanks to these wonderful teachers. It was like mixing business or knowledge with pleasure.

Each day is a "serendipity" and offers a new learning process provided you are open-minded, enthusiastic, and conscious of your surroundings. 

Why do we need to go to the library when we have a "talking encyclopedia" around us!
