Serendipity

Serendipity

I miss those glorious moments of discovery!

After completing my 11 years of schooling at Fatima Convent High School, Bhavnagar (Gujarat, India), I thought I was done with school sisters (nuns) and did not expect to see them in near future.

But a couple of years later I chanced upon Sister Isabel and Sister Bournita at St Xaviers Loyola sports complex, Ahmedabad (Gujarat ), where I was witnessing an inter-college hockey match.

During the time break, I was moving around loyala campus when I noticed them and ran towards them (it was so spontaneous). I said hello to them. Sister Isabel recognised me instantly but was surprised to see me there. She exclaimed, "Prakash, is this a serendipity of sorts". I replied, "what did you just say". She repeated the word "serendipity". When I looked blank, she then explained to me the meaning of serendipity which means "discovery by chance".

Well that day, unexpectedly, I happened to learn a couple of new things in a matter of a few minutes, thanks to these wonderful women. It was like mixing business or knowledge with pleasure!

Each day is a "serendipity" and offers a new learning process provided you are open-minded, enthusiastic, and conscious of your surroundings!
