Ro Water Is Not Mineral Water

There is a general misconception among people that RO water is mineral water.

On the contrary, RO water is demineralized water by virtue of the reverse osmosis desalination process which removes about 95 - 98% salts from source water. RO water is almost like distilled water and has no mineral taste.

Mineral water is actually natural spring water that undergoes simple filtration steps followed by the addition of useful or essential minerals in controlled amounts, from health and taste point of view. In other words, mineral water is fortified with useful or essential minerals. Simply put, mineral water is nothing but fortified spring water.

Mineral water bottles are commonly available in the USA where people are very particular about the intake of essential minerals. Mineral water, no doubt, is tasty and endearing to health.

However, people who consume RO water need not have to worry about minerals because we get them in plenty from our food sources like leafy vegetables, etc.
