Presence of mind
Presence of mind
The Squirrel Monku and the Crow Kaalu The squirrel Monku and the crow Kaalu were fighting over a piece of bread that Sampu had kept in the garden tray. Sampu saw them fighting and asked, “Why are you both fighting?” Monku said that Kaalu was trying to snatch the bread from him. Sampu replied, “Don’t worry, I will bring more pieces of bread.” She brought more bread and gave it to them. Both of them ate happily and satisfactorily. Then Sampu thought, “I was here to stop their fight, but what if they fight again in my absence?” So, she made a plan. She arranged a few trays and placed them in different corners of her garden. She put food in all the trays so that every animal and bird in the garden could eat peacefully. Moral: Presence of mind is always worthy of praise.
