No virtues no vices
No virtues no vices
Once Abraham Lincoln was returning with an old gentleman from Kentucky. The latter was coming from Missouri.
The gentleman was surprised when Lincoln refused his offer of tobacco or French brandy.
When both separated that afternoon, the Kentuckian gentleman was bound for Louisville. Before departing he shook hands with Lincoln and said that the latter was clever but rather a queer companion! He added that they might never meet again and he did not want to offend Lincoln. However he wanted to say that his experience has taught him that the man who has no vices has few virtues!
