Karthika peeped outside her home room window and gazed at the enchanting rain. The droplets of rain falling from sky like pearls and diamonds striking on the road like a blaze and splashing her face straight as she watched it from close. She always wanted to have a closer relation with Mother Nature. Reason? Her grandparents visit. Karthika’s occasional visit to her grandparents made her love the nature, love the creation of god and also realised that nature’s serenity can be the only way to silence the noise of madness in her minds. As she watched it for a while sipping a coffee, her mother Anuradha called from inside to join them in the night dinner.

The table was setup with scrumptious dishes and aromatic meals. Karthika gushed like a breeze wearing a midi and her walk was as gentle like a flower. Karthika was eating the food with her might when her dad asked an uncomfortable question or i can say a question which can really disturb her dinner dining. That was, Karthika is a high schooler and she is now needed to pursue her higher studies. Since their family is only affluent and talked about only creating engineers, karthika’s father had asked about the career counselling for given to by the school. Karthika always wanted to become a naturalist like her grandparents. As a child one day the idea of becoming this in her later adult part appeared when she saw people littering over the garbage in a dumped site and near to it were people living for their existence in slumps and households. The idea of cleaning the environment and planting the tress always cornered or i can say ringed her all the time every time when she saw it destroying. Karthika gave no reply to her father. Her father specifically advised her not to become an activist for nature like her grandparents, as he deems them to be low in self esteem or he prejudices them to be low status people in society. Even though we people who live in the posh apartments earning handsome amount of money in our professional jobs never realise the fact we earn this only to have a daily healthy food and good lifestyle. And good food and living can only happen if we actually respect and care for the nature which always caters and pampers we humans as a child. Karthika stood silently for some time for her father and mother’s advice. They both were hell bent in proving their theories of earning good money can only earn us good status and esteem from society and not just a free service can do it either. Though one part of karthika’s mind accepted it the other part refuted to even listen to it as it considers to be only money minded approach to just move the life and not to live it. Not to discover and learn the lessons of life. At the time while they water talking, Kartika heard a whipping and a whining noise near their house.

In the drizzling rain, Karthika stood up and peeked from their home only to saw a cute little puppy striving itself to survive as it was about to be dragged to the sewer. She opened the doors to her parents amuse and ran there quickly and rescued the dog’s life from falling. Her parents who were enraged at her for leaving the conversation abrupt also noticed that the form was missing from the dining table. Later karthika who was outside threw the career form papers outside realising that nothing can stop her from reaching the happiness in her life. She understood, that if we care for nature and its creation , nature will also care for us soon. So Karthika despite her parents opposition in her choice decided to become a naturalist and an environmentalist and was hell bent in working on it hoping that nature will care for her too like her child.
