My Hero's Achievement

Today is the beginning of the festive season Navratri. The season where the good vanquishes the evil. Many years ago I remember this day when my childhood hero Chacha Chaudhri through his able support Saboo got rid of terror from our lives in our village. Chacha Chaudhri was renowned for his wisdom and cunning ideas like Chanakya. Saboo was known for his ferocious strength. 

Many years ago, a group of mischievous elements in our village, some five or six of them held our village in their grip of terror. No one could utter any sound against their evil deeds. If any one raised his or her voice then he or she would be silenced for ever. No law could hold them accountable.The local administration was fed up with this regular lawlessness.Then one day an old man with his tall and muscular henchman was passing through our village. They were compelled to stay back due to the night stopping them from advancing further in their journey. They were relatively unknown till then. Hardly anyone knew of their achievements.Then the village Sarpanch or head of the village came to know of their presence in our locality. He had some knowledge of their brave deeds and how they had saved humanity many times.So the village head came to meet them and apprise them of the villagers' terror. Chacha Chaudhuri and Saboo his assistant discussed the matter.As per the dictat of the local warlord, Billa, every day one family from the village had the duty to give five bags of grain to their gang. In return they would protect the village from any calamity. The bags had to be kept at the centre of the village market place and everyone was supposed to stay indoors. Then Billa and his gang of five men would come on their vehicles, bikes etc and collect the bags. No one dared to intercept or stop them because then they would be gunned down. No police could do anything.Chacha Chaudhri and Saboo heard the story. Then they decided that the next day they would represent one family. They decided to represent the Sarpanch. So on his day the Sarpanch kept his quota of bags. But the bags were fille

d with saw dust and wood shavings instead of grains.Saboo and Chacha Chaudhri took up positions behind two pillars hidden from view. Billa and his gang came to collect their entitled bags. When Billa found the bags were full of saw dust, he was furious and shouted curses at the Sarpanch because it was his duty on that day to supply grains. Instead of grains he found wood shavings.'Come out Sarpanch, if you have the courage to face Billa,' roared Billa. He was behind with rage.Hearing his name Sarpanch came out along with Saboo and Chacha Chaudhri.Seeing Chacha Chaudhri and Saboo, Billa looked in amazement and started to laugh and ridicule the Sarpanch.' You have recruited these two idiots to protect you and the village from Billa,' retorted Billa and roared with loud laughter.But Billa was not aware what was awaiting him. His three body guards took out their guns and got ready to attack. Chacha Chaudhri was unperturbed.Like a cheetah he leapt in front of Billa and sprayed Billa' s eyes with chilli powder.Temporarily, Billa was put out of action and seeing him indisposed his assistants took out their guns and before could take aim and fire, Saboo sprayed more chilli powder over these guards. Immediately then Saboo over powered these gun men and disarmed them. Then from all around the village square came out score of village men and women with cow dung and chilli powder. Billa and his men were plastered with cow dung all over their bodies and made absolutely incapable of escape and protection.Then the Police came and took charge of the situation. Billa and his accomplices were taken into custody and put behind bars to be presented before the court next day for their sentencing.The village took a celebration mood. Navratri festival was now amongst us. The villagers were overjoyed and were eulogising Chacha Chaudhri and Saboo.Later we came to know that the chilli powder attack and later the villagers attack with cow dung was planned by Chacha Chaudhri and was perfectly executed by Saboo and the villagers. Moral of the story, determination can overcome any adversary.
