Mother: Incarnation of God
Mother: Incarnation of God
Mothers are the incarnation of God on earth. Foolish Aryan could not understand this and continued to loath his monocular(single eyed) widow mother. His classmates teased him seeing his mother, this was the supreme cause for him to hate her. One fine day Aryan while walking on corridor of his school tumbled and fell down. His fellow mates walking beside him rather than helping him commented that 'child like the mother'. This made him fume with anger. Angry not on those disgraceful friends but angry on the one who carried him in her womb for nine months. He wanted vengeance from his mother for making his life hell by giving him birth. Reaching home he saw his mother standing near the gate waiting for him who asked, ' how was your day at school?'
Aryan with a grave face and with rude accent told 'If you die then everyday will be good for me.' Saying this Aryan went running to his bedroom without looking back at his mother. Mother though didn't tell anything at that moment but was immensely hurt by these words of her son. Tears rolled down her cheeks. She quickly wiped her tear and went to prepare food for his son who might be hungry returning back from school. Then, Years passed by with every single day beginning and ending with distaste in heart of a son for his mother. Now Aryan, after completing his studies abroad had returned back to the capital city of his home state leading a happily married life with his only son. He had become a successful opthalmologist of the city. Not a single day existed after Aryan had left home for higher studies, when mother had stopped weeping with her one eye, remembering her only son. The news of Aryan returning to the city soon reached the mother's ear by a known person who had gone to the city for some important work. Hearing about the return of her son mother felt as if she was in the seventh heaven. Though sixty years old, her determination to see her only son one last time before dying made her boarding a train to the capital city. Outside the capital station she found a local automobile driver.
She asked the man ' Do you know where Aryan Singh lives.' In a wink of eye, the driver replied, ' call Dr. Aryan Singh, the famous opthalmologist of our city. Who on earth do not know him. You are surely unlucky asking this question to me.' Mother asked the driver to accompany her to his son's house. She was very joyful listening to the success stories of her own son. Reaching the house she tapped on the gate. A person wearing a white doctor's coat over his costly clothes opened the gate. As if Pearls rolled down mother's one eye. She could not stop her tears of joy. A quirky voice came from the back, a child asked in his soft voice, ' dad, who is this old lady?' . The old mother bloomed with joy seeing her grandson until hearing the reply from the mouth of Aryan. Aryan told his son, " Raj, stay away from such people, They wander around the city for kidnapping small children like you." Saying this he shut the door with a thundering thud.
Though he could recognise his mother but remembering his childhood pain caused due to her he didn't want to allow her to intrude in their happy life. Hearing this mother stood dumbstruck. As if her sense organ including her only eye had stopped working. Broken heart, she returned to home with now her only want being death. Eight months passed. Once Aryan had to go to his hometown to give training to the town doctors. He went to the training programme and after successfully completing the event passed through a narrow road heading back to town station to catch a train to the city. The narrow road was the road on the right side of which was his paternal house. He decided to visit his old house once.
After a lot of searching, he finally came across his one-storeyed house of which one wall had fallen. The gate was wide open. He entered the house and reminisced his old memories which made him joyful except for the memories associated with his mother. He had got to know that his mother was no more from some neighbors. Entering his old bedroom of which the roof had broken, he found a paper kept of his cushionless bed. He took it and was astonished to find that it was a letter from his mother.
He read ' To son, son I am very happy hearing that you have become a very famous doctor. You always hated me for my one eye. Before my life ends I want to say sorry to you for all sorrow I had brought to you during your childhood. When you were a child of 5 years while playing with an instrument box you had damaged your one eye with a screwdriver. Doctor said that you will be monocular for the whole life. So I had to donate my one eye to you because the mother is the one who shows the right path to son then how can a mother tolerate her son being blind. My life will end without seeing you for the last time but in my afterlife, I will ask God to always keep you happy and blissful in your life. With regards and blessings, your maa. ' Reading the letter shivers passed down the body of Aryan. The letters fell down his hands as he sat lifeless on the ground reckoning his behavior towards his mother and remembering her.
