Milestones Chapter 1

She silently got down from her double sized bed and changed into her tees and black coloured palazo pants. It was dawn and no one witnessed her while she crossed her lane. The watchman was snoring aloud wearing his muffler around his neck.

As she got out the street dogs started barking making her turn white. Few dogs who were sleeping under her car got up and looked at her angrily for coming unusually early. She shooed them away and got into her car where all her equipment waited for her arrival. Without turning the the back light on, she drove straight and took the immediate left leading to Porur lake- one of the fresh water lakes in Chennai!

Her playlist was on and she slowly fastened the speed of her car. Without any race, she drove smoothly enjoying the fresh air hitting her head. Five past ten she reached the highway. She got as the golden sun rays touched her pink skin highlighting her pimples. In few minutes the drone started flying above and her eyes were fixed on it.

Sam, age 24, height 5'5, weight 50 kilograms was a veterinarian by profession and blogger by passion. Nature was her first teacher and she loves wandering around the city capturing memories and giving life to it by blogging about it.

As the drone came down, she packed it and got down near the lake for a small photo walk which was highly prohibited. Butterflies and grass hoppers were resting on the grass and the ants were busy starting their day. The hungry tadpoles were feeding on the green leaves flooded over the side of the lake and accidentally she found something near to it moving up and down. Two tiny eyes were twinkling. The eyelids looked like glass pieces. Her curiosity made her to move close by to take a deeper look at it. It went down immediately leaving the bubbles as souvenirs. She awaited for the eyes to come up and she saw them again, now clearly.

It was a baby tortoise wrapped inside his shell. She caught hold of him using his shell and left him on the land. He walked slowly yet he seemed to love his new environment.

She followed the tiny creature and decided to take him home and give him an identity.
