Magic

Magic

At age 6, I witnessed my first Magic. I would admit it felt totally insane. I would have rolled a plank into anyone's head trying to convince me that such a thing could happen. But then, I witnessed it for myself, and liked I said, it was insane.

Mr Bayo is probably the friendliest adult I've ever met. He had been friends with dad long before I made my way out Dad's testicular cages. At the time, he was my coolest adult, cause he got magic.

One night, Dad got his brain stunned (hypnotized) by Mr Bayo, and we all slept with broken ribs from laughing that night. He also once lit a candle with his eyes closed, and let the fire snuff out when he opened his eyes. That used to be my favourite. I loved it more. Most importantly, I'm happy with all his magic.

Majority of us have grown up with an understanding of what magic is and what magic isn't and what it shouldn't be. We have shaped our minds with the idea that magic is an illusion, an unreal thing. Some people even advanced further from simple magic tricks to dark magic, or juju. We now think of magic as when one glides on a broomstick, or when someone can take a straight bullet without being hurt.

And what about reality? Life? Is that not magic?

As a kid, I used to wonder what I could do that seemed magical like the things Mr Bayo does. In the end, all my marvels yielded nothing.

I moved on to thinking about other things that seemed or felt like magic . It was around this time I woke up one morning in the bedroom, when I was very sure I slept in the seating room on my favourite couch the night before.

I could do magic, I could sleep in one place and wake up in another. Wow.

I started perceiving almost everything humans do as magic. We do magic by sleeping, waking up and breathing every day. We often speak without thinking consciously about our words and expressions that follows. We're not thinking about thinking either. It magically happens in our brain.

It's magic when you fall in love. You can't explain it. It's the same way I couldn't explain how Mr Bayo's magic felt like.

Day in and out, life is a miracle. It's the ultimate magic. You can't explain it, you Just know it's happening, and you are alive.

But how?

There's magic in giving birth. The entire idea of reproduction is magnificent, as in a super beautiful magic.

Magic happens when you help others in need. There's magic in giving and sharing. There's also magic in being emotionally intelligent. There's magic in forgiving and forgetting. It leads to a mental orgasm. You just feel great about yourself. What's more important is that you begin to love yourself even more.

The Internet is magical. There's something also magical about technology. Space is magical too. There's a lot we can't explain about it.

How is anything happening in the first place? The act of trying to think about it is itself magic.

But, like a coin, magic comes with two sides. Magic can be both good and bad. I just thought the world would be happier, but mostly beautiful and a lot more magical, if we only dared to do good magic.

Think about it.
