In the coming month, I was going to enter my teenage. My days had happiness in it. I was selected for a lawn tennis competition at the national level which was going to be held after four months in Delhi.

I was vigorously practicing for my competition to win it and bring laurels to my school and my parents. One month passed like a jiffy and I was working on improving my skills.

I took the cycle and left after informing my parents to buy a new tennis ball and that day my life changed. I was coming back home when a car with full speed came towards me and left me in the pool of blood on the road.

Next, when I opened my eyes I was surrounded by doctors and nurses and my mother was sitting beside me having tears in her eyes. I tried to move and I felt severe pain in my limbs and joints. I had difficulty speaking. I spoke in a very feeble voice “Mumma”. My mother loving caressed my hair. After that, I had no strength to speak. I listened to the doctor saying to my mother “ Her hands and legs are fractured and it will take at least 6 months to become fit and before that she cannot do anything.” What were the exact words of the doctor? I was shattered.

In 2 months I had to play nationally. That was the time in my life where I have to decide one things either to sit and cry or be determined and make my self better and appear in the competition . After one week I allotted a physiotherapist. Within a month I was able to move myself without any support. The doctor was also astonished and after my lots of pleading he discharged me from the hospital.

Then I left no stone unturned to win the competition. Then the day of judgment came. My hard work was going to be paid through my result. I entered the court and I could see many faces which had different emotions but my face showed confidence with throbbing nervous heart inside me. I started with the winning streak and my hope and confidence built-in. I went in the finals . The opponent in the final match had won 3 times in a row. The finals ended in a draw. Now I had only match point to win. I was doing the service. My weakness was taking over me and I hit the tennis ball with all my strength which was left in me and she missed it . I had won the competition but I collapsed on the floor and my eyes were closed. I was rushed to the hospital. Next when I opened my eyes my parent’s smile said it all .

This incident changed my life and taught me to always have an optimistic approach and determination for my dream. I was taught the biggest lesson in my life by my life. My decision that day gave me joy. Life is always unpredictable but it is always in our hands to make our dream come true. Although our destiny is fixed we always have two pages blank in the destiny book which we can fill with our choice.
