A small lesson learnt from a very small happening in my life

Small things matter, don’t they?

A few days ago, I was on a two-wheeler with my brother. He was driving and I was sitting at back.

Whenever I am on a two-wheeler, I usually get bumps by the bumps (the speed breakers :))on the road. Speed breakers are a pain for me and I usually wish there are no speed breakers further. So, out of my habit, I slightly moved my head and tried to see if there are more speed breakers. Unfortunately, there was one more on that lane and feeling helpless I just prepared myself of the bump (pain) I will once again go through. I closed my eyes and after a few seconds, I realised my brother had bypassed the speed breaker using his great driving skills.

Now, I was happy because I had mentally prepared myself for that painful experience but nothing of that sort happened.

The very thought that crossed my mind at that point of time: When you prepare yourself for the worst and it doesn’t happen, you feel happier.

It’s like icing on the cake.

Initially, I was wishing that there should be no more speed breakers which is like running from the reality that you will never face bad situations or happenings in your life which is a wrong approach.

But, when I had prepared my mind to go through the pain and my brother avoided the speed breaker, I felt relieved and happy. My later approach was like ‘bring it on’ and I will face the situation which is actually the right approach. I am not asking you to be negative, all I am saying is preparing yourself for the difficult situations will help you handle them more effectively.

Lesson learned: Never say things will never go wrong in your life. Say that if/when they go wrong, I will handle the situation and come out of it with flying colors
