“Beep! Beep”, Mr. Madhav honked. ”Move!”, he barked breathlessly.

And “Bump”, into the other car.

”What have you done? My car is damaged.”, Mr.Gupta asked calmly, rolling down the window-glass. He got off his car.

Mr. Madhav jerked the door open and shrugged, “I’ve not done anything. My car also has the dents. ”

As soon as they saw each other …strangely! The winds blew softer, The setting sun coloured the sky brightly. The blue - orange sky spread over and Mr.Madhav recited the nursery rhyme, ”Twinkle! Twinkle” which, Mr.Gupta completed with his, “Little star”.They burst out in peals of laughter. They hugged each other; and caught up, mentally, all the sweet memories they had… Singing the nursery rhyme,“Twinkle! Twinkle, little star ” was one among them.

They both were soulmates. The best friends. The boon companions.

Both of them went back to their salad days, to their Nursery class;

Mr.Gupta relived how he teased Madhav “Oww…” was his favourite. Mr.Madhav recalled their style of greeting each other ‘ A Big Hug ‘.

They knew instinctively, they had almost changed, but were still the same: their smiles remained preserved from the days of gossips ;and the same manner to wear their ties dangling out of the sweaters, this was also their recognition at the primary school.

Middle school was the most cheerful time of all … Mr. Madhav turned into a serious student here but, Gupta was notorious and if by mistake Madhav forgot to complete the home task,he would shout aloud “None Done None” It was their community class code to hide the crime of not attempting the assignments. Their cheat codes and secret codes made them chuckle. They had many such memories.

They recalled it all...in a brief moment such as this. Their wild smiles were bookended with the deep dimples of time passed.

Next was the hardest stage of their journey together, their lowest time, their separation. Tears rolled down as their nightmares flashed again ; The stormy day, when they were split apart… when their schools changed; Madhav went to Cambridge High School and Gupta’s parents admitted him to Oxford High School. They had never been so far and never for so long, but they had to leave each other. They left.

Their paths changed. Their individual journey started from that day, They completed their high school studies. Then, Madhav worked as an architect and Gupta was a scientist. Their lives got boring and unpleasant.They had a life with no life, no friends, no fun.

They were never that happy after and thereafter until this destiny planned-unplanned accident froze the time … the clock was ticking slower and slower. When “Beeeeeeeep!” a honking car smashed them back into the current.

Mr.Madhav and Mr.Gupta realised, they were on a working road which got jammed because of them. They got into motion, made arrangements and flew ahead.

The sky was happy, the Earth was happy, two birds had finally come back to the nest. After donkey's years...after a dream accident.
