Deshi Or Videshi Style

'Dal, bati and churma' the name itself makes my mouth water.

It's a famous and most popular dish from North Indian cuisine.

I still remember once this delicacy was prepared in our home, obviously by my mom and who else. She served me and I start enjoying it but with hands, deshi style not with a spoon which was expected by mom.

She scolded me for the same and even fired me by saying it's the most uncivilized way to eat, I ignored her and concentrated on my meal. Meanwhile, one of our uncles visited our home. He had been also offered for a meal and he was also ready as, nobody can resist with dal, bati, and churma .

As usual, he also starts eating with hands and not using cutlery. That was the moment I asked mom "Now you ask him to use cutlery first".

Uncle added a pinch of salt in it "beta ! This dish is enjoyed in deshi style only not with videshi style". I laughed.

Finally, my mom has to agree, ok have your meal as you wish and spare me.
