Oh! This was too much! She was spending the entire evening in that boring game. How many times I had asked her to come out with me to play. But no. She won't. She would continue to watch the chess board as if counting the squares on it.

She was my naughty sister Jimmy. I marked her interest in the game after she watched a match of Sir Viswanath Anand. From that day whenever she got time, she started practicing chess.

Well I was never fond of that game. It was a boring thing for me to sit like that for such a long time. Game to me was running, jumping. So, I could never support her in this indoor game.

Only for this cause we both stood against each other.

But this lock down made me puzzled. We had to stay inside. No chance to go out and meet friends. What to do? Ultimately I had to request Jimmy to play with me. She said that she would play chess only. I had to agree. But I also conditioned that if I win then she would never play chess again.

She agreed.

We started playing. From the beginning of the game, Jimmy was playing very nicely. It was really a miracle that I won. After the game, she wept a little but as per the condition; she said she won't play chess anymore.

But after playing a single game in chess; I found the game so witty and charming that I praised her for her choice. And I requested her to never leave this game and promised to play with her always.

It seemed as if Sir Viswanath Anand had a checkmate on me and am defeated by his favourite game.
