"Mumma, I feel so scared to be on the stage. How could I face such a big audience? May I drop this role? I am not a good actor. I don’t think I would be able to do justice to this role.” I told my mother.

“No dear Deepa, don’t do that. You have talents in acting. Don’t you remember? You have acted in drama before this also. But it was only the role of a supporting actor. But this time God has given you a golden chance to portray the main character…the woman of substance! The main focus of the audience will be on your performance, dear. Please don’t miss this opportunity.”

“OK Mom, I will try my best. But you should be with me to give moral support.” I smiled and hugged my mother.

“Of course darling, you are my princess! I am always there for you.”

Then came the day of my performance in a grand function in our school.

“Why are we worshipping Devi Maa only for these nine days of Navratras? In fact, the role of women in our life should be celebrated every day. We should recognize her love, sacrifice, duty, affection and hard work. She is your mother, sister, friend, daughter, wife and colleague. She is powerful, kind and affectionate. She is Goddess Durga herself in different forms. Jai Maa!”

When I concluded my dialogue, I got a standing ovation from the audience. My role in the drama and my acting influenced them so much that most of them approached me to congratulate or take my autograph. I was on cloud nine!

"Thank you so much Mom, for motivating me. You are my sweet Mom. Keep blessing me.”

I wiped my tears of joy and touched my mother’s feet. I am in the limelight now. Yes, my dark days vanished due to the sunrise of God’s blessings in my life!
