Kyra is a little sweet girl. This weekend she will be turning seven years old. She is fully thrilled to celebrate her birthday. Right from balloons, banner, return gifts all her shopping list is complete. Today the last item and most special one, the Birthday Cake.

With a big sparkle in her small eyes, she enters the store holding hands of parents. As her parents settle down to choose the cake fro the catalogue, she is thrilled to select the most beautiful one for herself. A princess cake with a gown similar to my party dress.

Hurray! This one please. Finally they all agreed to one cake. As her parents were doing the payment she saw a small boy peeping through the glass door of the shop. Her mother was a balloon seller. She went close to the door for a better look. The little boy peeped inside, with lot of hope. The pastry and muffins inside brought a sparkle in the boy’s eye. He was glancing at the cake pictures and models decorated in the shop. Kyra was so much taken by the little boy, way of glancing the cake. She wanted to buy one for him. As Kyra turned towards her parents to talk about it, she saw the balloon lady dragging the boy away.

Kyra rushed to say bye to him. But the boy was gone away with his other. As the day went by, Kyra and her family got busy wrapping the return gifts. Tomorrow is a big day for all. The next morning, Kyra’s parents waked her up with kisses and surprises. The day went on in a perfect manner. Evening all her friends gathered around the cake table. It was time to make a wish and blow the candle. Kyra recalled her previous birthday wishes. On her fifth birthday she wished for a cycle, and she got one.

On her sixth birthday she wished for a princess tent house and she got one. She closed her eyes and made the seventh birthday wish, “Dear God, please where ever that little boy does give him the best cake on his birthday this year.” And she blew the candles.

All the kids danced and enjoyed the evening. Later in the night, Kyra opened up all the gifts she got. It was a long and tiring day. As her mother tucked her in bed and asked her about the wish.

She told me about the boy and her wish.

Her mother kissed her good night, and with teary eyes, she was surprised how humble

and kind her daughter has grown into.
