The following story is related to a Greek slave with the name of Androcles. Androcles, though been faithful to his master, like every other slave had a doubt too - when would he be freed? As his master would treat him very badly. So one day, as usual, Androcles was asked to remove and cut it thorny bushes. His hands started bleeding but he didn't care.

Days went on like this. Now Androcles was fed up. He went into the dark Jungle at midday. Negligible light was passing from between the spaces of the leaves. Suddenly, he heard a roar and turned back. A lion wsa panting heavily and roaring as if with tears in his eyes. Androcles thought now it's the end of him. But the lion came up to him. Androcles saw that his paws were bleeding due o a thorn stuck there. This remembered him the cutting of thorny bushes and bleeding. He understood his pain and plucked out his thorn. Androcles then decided to go home back to his master.

Back then, at home, the master scolded him for running away. He decided to leave Androcles before lions. It was a traditional practice to leave slaves in front of starving lions.

Next day, the lions came forward. As the first lion was about to pounce, he recognised Androcles and broke the way of other lions who tried to pounce. It started purring as if communicating. After sometime, all the lions bowed to Androcles and he also recognised the lion. It was the leader.

Seeing all this incident, the master of Androcles got impressed and freed Androcles from slavery. And Androcles and the lion also got very good friends!!
