Our life is the collection of numerous events. Of those events, some events are gradually forgotten as we grow up, but some events are unforgettable. Only such events go on to become our precious memories. We like events that motivate us, events that inspire us and events that ultimately define who we are and what we wish to become. Everyone has memorable events that absolutely shaped them. I am going to narrate a memorable event that is shaping me from within.
If you ever thought that the lives of animals and birds were easier, you are wrong. Nature throws a lot of challenges we all have to face - whether you are a human, animal or bird. Mother nature doesn’t discriminate! Life is created in such a way to enable us to withstand the challenges and overcome the hardships. If there’s a creature in nature that’s an example of succeeding difficulties, it is undoubtedly the ‘Weaver Bird’. With all its patience and persistence, a weaver bird taught me never to give up on anything quite easily, without trying it many times.
It was August 2018. On a tree, nearby my home, a weaver bird has started to build its nest. In a branch, the bird made a knot with a long blade of grass. Then, built a circular structure, weaving grass using its beak and feet. The bird was building the nest with so much effort, care and skill, I thought the bird must have studied Master’s Degree in Architecture! After two days of hard work, flying back and forth to bring grass from distant places, when the nest was about to be completed, it was destroyed by a gush of strong wind. I thought the bird would abandon the nest and go somewhere else to rebuild again.
To my surprise, the bird didn’t give up and started to rebuild the nest at the same place. After two days of hard work, when the nest was about to be completed, it was pulled down by a big squirrel. I thought that this time, the bird will definitely go somewhere else to build its nest. To my utter surprise, the bird didn’t give up and started to build a nest on a different branch of the tree. After two days of hard work, when the nest was about to be completed, it was pulled down by a monkey. I was a little sad and thought that this time, the bird will go somewhere else to build the nest. But, the bird didn’t give up and fly away. The bird started to build the nest on a higher branch of the tree. The bird didn’t look sad or tired. It kept on singing and building the nest more securely away from the reach of squirrels and monkeys. Finally, after two days of hard work, the nest was completed successfully. I was so happy.
