Who Will You be?

Who Will You be?

With the hope of obtaining a particular role,

Two individuals come into play,

While one comes in their confidence full,

The other just hopes that a grand act before them they can lay.

One goes on while the other must sit and wait,

When both finish and go on their way,

Those judges must then discuss and debate,

On which one had earned the role that day.

One had flare and had about them an eager air,

So to all, this person claimed their role was set in stone,

Yet such a thought had not seemed fair,

As the role, this person had failed to make their own.

But while evident to all this fact had been,

Unfortunately, the decision was made long in advance,

For while they had both auditioned again,

That other individual did not stand a chance.

While one had gone in and had done their best

The other enraged their complaints made known

At this point, you can probably guess the rest,

In the end, to the undeserving one, that role was thrown.

I hope you're happy that's all I can say,

It's sad that while confidence you claimed to possess,

In the end, it's only because you sank to thievery that you got your way

But realize the effect you had was not one that'll ever impress.
