When on This Brink, Please Stop And Think

It must be nice when others have confidence in you,

Or to feel like there isn't a thing you can't do,

That feeling of joy and pleasure,

Knowing that even in the worst times you can weather 

It helps when someone's by your side,

As to that person, you can confide,

Even when you've made a mistake,

Even if corrected you'll never tremble or shake 

Because while faults you have in spades,

It doesn't matter how awful the shades,

Because they still see the good there,

You never feel as if everything you must always bear 

When one wishes to experience this again and again,

There is a reason why this message they send,

Oftentimes this reality seems beyond what they can obtain,

They're held back by someone or something thus they remain.

It's sad when the only comforts they expect,

Are from those which are all indirect,

As the advice, they tend to take to heart,

Is from none other than a world of which they are no part 

They always felt they were misunderstood,

Those around them rarely acknowledge the good,

As they've only been shown what they do wrong,

How can anyone be surprised when they feel they don't belong?
