What Goes On In A Reader's Mind
What Goes On In A Reader's Mind
The day had arrived
My best friend now was in front of my eyes
I was ready to absorb all my time
Bells ringing and I heard soothing chimes
It was as if the excitement was gushing through my body
As I sat every day under that shady tree
It was like a torch guiding me all the way to your end
A visible path but as thin as a thread
All day I was reminded of sweet stories
I wanted to keep them close to my heart with utmost glory
Emotions popping in my mind
You took me through a roller coaster ride
Halfway, the suspense was still there
I gave my guesses everywhere
If they turn out true or not
A mystery had to unleash itself, no matter what
The end was soon to be arriving
You in surprising me were thriving
Soon, it was time to separate us
But my heart couldn’t get over the thirst
There I sat with my head in my hands, my companion was gone
“Don’t read that fast” I recall voices warn
Then, one day I realized the reality
You were just written as a fantasy to entertain me
My most prized possession
Was now showing its true colours
All the time I held onto you
But the sad actuality flashed before my eyes that you were never true
